Ugandan Movies To Showcase At Amakula International Film Festival

Shortly after launching the Amakula International film festival, Uganda’s oldest film festival founded in 2004 by Dutch film historian Alice Smits and American filmmaker Lee Elickson.

This year’s festival is presented by Bayimba cultural foundation and many Ugandan movies have made the cut to be showcased after they were selected from submission of in and out of the Golden Impala Award competition. The Golden Impala Award aims to uplift and inspire film standards for local, regional and international filmmakers.

Devil’s Chest, Love Faces, Rain, Vvolongoto Mu Mukwano, The Forbidden, Rehema, The Last Breath, Zzina, Idi Amin’s Boat, The Bad Mexican are among the Ugandan movies that have been selected for screening at the festival.
